The adventure begins — and I’m taking you all with me

I can’t quite believe I’m writing this, but here it is: I’m officially going to Star Trek Las Vegas 2026! This will be my first ever trip to the United States, and naturally, it’s for a Star Trek convention. Honestly, could it be any more on brand?

If you’ve followed me on TikTok or Instagram as @Leah_SciFi, you’ll know that my life revolves around warp cores, wigs, silicone prosthetics, and the occasional hot glue crisis. I’ve spent the past six months building a Star Trek-loving community that celebrates everything from character design to fandom creativity, and now, it’s time to take that energy to the biggest Trek event in the galaxy!

The cosplay conundrum: which Seven of Nine?

Let’s be real, one of the first thoughts I had (after screaming with excitement) was: What cosplays am I taking? I’m best known for my Seven of Nine cosplays, all of which connect deeply to my background as a lecturer in Hair, Makeup, and Prosthetics for TV and Film. For me, cosplay is about merging fandom with artistry, the sculpting, painting, and detail work that make a character come alive.

But I have a dilemma: Which version of Seven should I wear to Vegas? Do I go full Borg assimilation, complete with biomechanical detailing and metallic prosthetics? Or channel her Voyager-era elegance with her sleek silver bodysuit and immaculate hair? Both have their merits, and both are… very warm in Vegas heat.

So, I’m letting you all decide! Through my Buy Me a Coffee page, you can vote on my costume choice and unlock behind-the-scenes content from the build process. I’ll be sharing everything from design sketches to makeup tests and costume progress — including the inevitable chaos when something refuses to stick.

Join “Mission STLV” and help make it so

I’ve officially launched Mission STLV on Buy Me a Coffee, a community-powered goal to help fund the trip and create exclusive behind-the-scenes content for those who support the journey. Your contributions go directly towards materials, flights, convention costs, and yes, maybe a few emergency safety pins.

In return, you’ll gain access to early reveals, private updates, and voting powers that shape the content I’ll create on the road to Las Vegas. This isn’t just my adventure, it’s ours.

So grab a cup of Earl Grey (hot, of course) and join me as I boldly go where I’ve never gone before. Here’s to Mission STLV 2026, and to the biggest Star Trek adventure yet. 🖖
